How Online School Works
Is online school the solution you’ve been looking for?
EVA is dedicated to creating a safe and personalized learning journey for every student. We provide a path that is flexible to the needs of your family and that will reignite your student’s joy for learning. What will EVA look like in your home?
The beauty of virtual learning is that the day in the life of your student is really up to you. Outside of daily live lessons where attendance is taken, students are free to set their own schedule.
Students communicate regularly with their teachers through e-mail, telephone, and live classes. They also work closely with a designated Learning Coach at home — typically a parent or guardian.
At EVA, we work hard to encourage a good balance of online and offline school work. We believe students should receive instruction using the best method for each subject area. Sometimes that means using textbooks, videos, hands-on tools and resources to complement the interactive, online elements of our program.
Is the EVA program flexible?
Learning can happen at home, on the road, or wherever an internet connection can be found. While attendance is required for dedicated daily lessons, our program is designed for students to utilize offline material to create a balanced education.
Whether your student needs a slower pace, more challenging content, or a different teaching style, we have you covered. With core subjects, electives, opportunities for advanced learners, and multi-tiered systems of support, we address the needs of all types of learners.
Our willingness to understand the needs of families can make all the difference for students with unique scheduling demands — like medical treatment, competitive events, or pursuing a passion.
Learning Coaches provide support at home
Support at home is vital to the success of a virtual learning student. That’s why every EVA student has a dedicated Learning Coach inside the home — typically a parent or guardian.
We expect our Learning Coaches to monitor student progress, assist student with their class schedule, and hold students accountable for completing and turning in school work on time. Of course, teachers are always in communication to answer any questions or give guidance where needed.

Students have a variety of opportunities to connect with their peers. Whether working on a collaborative class project, joining a club, attending a virtual field trip, or our popular EVentures outings, students can choose to participate in the school community at their own comfort level.
Accreditation
EVA is a 100% fully-accredited Oregon online public school. We are fully accredited through Cognia and sponsored by the North Bend School District. All of our teachers and administrators are required to maintain professional licensure in the state of Oregon.

Time Commitment
One of the biggest advantages of online learning is the freedom to structure your day in a way that meets the needs of your student. Need a movement break? No problem. A snack? Go for it! This flexibility encourages students to pursue their dreams outside of the classroom.
With a reliable Internet connection, learning can occur anywhere. We have students exploring the world through travel and pursuing competitive sports. We are also a safe haven for students who tend to miss school for medical or social reasons. We cut through the noise of traditional schools; giving students the flexibility they deserve to learn.
Socialization
A common reason parents remove their children from traditional schooling is to detach them from unhealthy or negative social environments. We work hard to ensure our students feel part of a healthy, supportive community, and have opportunities to engage socially with other students.
EVA students, families, and staff enjoy connecting through both in-person and virtual activities, including school clubs, lunch bunch, virtual field trips, EVentures, and much more. The flexible schedule and absence of travel time also allow more students time to involve themselves in extracurricular activities, which we always encourage!
Curriculum
EVA uses the award-winning StrongMind curriculum. It is a comprehensive, standards-based curriculum that integrates online, offline, and live components to ensure an engaging and quality education.
Everything you need is in one place, and all offline materials are sent directly to your door. Students have all the tools to help them through challenges, as well as access to live classes and teacher support. You don’t need to be a tech genius to thrive in an online environment. Our platform is built to be easy to use, and our Tech Support is here to help every step of the way.
